Qatar Press Center Hosts the Launch of the Syrian Journalists Club in Qatar

The Qatar Press Center officially hosted the launch of the Syrian Journalists Club in Qatar, with the presence of a large number of journalists, media professionals, and officials from the Syrian Embassy in Doha. This initiative aims to enhance professional communication, support journalistic and media personnel in the country, exchange shared experiences, strengthen social, cultural, and professional ties, support media students, and contribute to the advancement of Syrian media institutions.

Mr. Saad Mohammed Al-Rumaihi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Qatar Press Center, congratulated the Syrian journalists on the establishment of their club, affirming that the new club serves as a platform to support and qualify Syrian media talents to enrich the media scene in Syria.

Al-Rumaihi emphasized that the Qatar Press Center is a home for all Syrian and Arab journalists, offering its resources to elevate the profession, and praised the inclusion of a promising group of young Syrian journalists in their new club in Qatar.

Professional Ties

Dr. Bilal Turki, Charge d'Affaires of the Syrian Embassy in Qatar, extended congratulations to the Syrian journalists on the launch of their club, highlighting the importance of professional associations, such as the Syrian Journalists Club in Qatar, in supporting the ongoing construction and reconstruction efforts in Syria.

He stated that the journalists' club represents one of the most significant associations for the Syrian community in Qatar and will serve as an essential professional gathering for Syrian journalists.

Dr. Turki also commended Qatar's consistent and continuous support to Syria in various fields, including political, economic, media, and humanitarian aspects, affirming that Qatar has stood by the Syrian people's right to freedom from the very beginning, supporting their will until they achieved their freedom.

Club Identity

In his speech during the ceremony, Omar Zaqzouq, President of the Syrian Journalists Club in Qatar, stated that the club's identity is purely social and free from any affiliations, aiming to be a supportive platform for every Syrian journalist, providing an environment conducive to learning, development, and belonging.

Zaqzouq mentioned that the club has developed a practical plan to implement several objectives, including strengthening professional and social relations among journalists, organizing training courses and workshops in partnership with reputable media institutions in Qatar, supporting Syrian journalists professionally, and highlighting the media and humanitarian role of the Syrian community in Qatar.

The event was attended by Mr. Sadiq Mohammed Al-Amari, Director-General of the Qatar Press Center, Abdullah Al-Khalaf, Chairman of the Syrian Community Council in Qatar, and a large number of media colleagues and interested parties.

Supporting Talents

The Syrian Journalists Club in Qatar is a non-profit social media club that aims to enhance communication among Syrian journalists in Qatar and work on supporting and consolidating ethical values in media work.

The club also aims to provide a platform for exchanging media ideas and experiences, promoting media ethics, supporting young media talents, encouraging creativity, and disseminating and developing professional ethics.
