Agreement Between Qatar Press Center and Al Emadi Medical Group to Provide Health Services for Journalists

The Qatar Press Center has signed a cooperation agreement with Al Emadi Medical Group to provide healthcare services for journalists and media professionals registered as members of the center and their families. These services will be offered at preferential rates and special discounts across all medical specialties. The agreement was signed at the "Abdullah bin Hussein Al-Nu’ama" Hall.

This agreement reflects the commitment of both parties to support journalistic and media personnel by providing a comprehensive professional environment that includes healthcare services, contributing to their professional and social stability, and enhancing their professional performance.

Mr. Saad bin Mohammed Al-Rumaihi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Qatar Press Center, expressed his pleasure at signing the agreement with Al Emadi Medical Group. He noted that this is the first agreement with a service provider in the country aimed at serving the center’s affiliated journalists and media personnel.

He stated, “This agreement is part of our initiative to serve an important segment of society. We believe that health is a crucial and fundamental pillar. It is well known that Qatar is a global leader in providing high-quality medical care through both public and private health centers and hospitals. The country has established specialized and advanced hospitals, providing substantial financial and administrative support, ensuring Qatar remains at the forefront in this field.”

 

Membership Activation

Al-Rumaihi confirmed that membership activation will begin in the coming days, adding that the design of the membership cards was finalized last week and they will soon be available to all journalists and media professionals.

He noted that the number of members currently exceeds 500, according to a database compiled by the center from media institutions across the country. He emphasized that the center aims to serve the largest number possible of journalist colleagues.

He also mentioned that new agreements will be signed in various service sectors for the benefit of members, and that announcements regarding these agreements will be made successively in the near future.

 

Media: A Key Partner

Dr. Mohamed Al Emadi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Emadi Hospital Group and its branches, emphasized that the signing of this cooperation agreement with the Qatar Press Center aligns with the Group's commitment to social responsibility and its ongoing efforts to strengthen collaboration with various institutions in the country—especially media institutions that play a pivotal role in development and public awareness.

He stated that the agreement is a practical reflection of the Group’s values, which prioritize delivering high-quality healthcare to all segments of society. Dr. Al Emadi added that this partnership is a significant step toward creating a safe and stable working environment for journalists, enabling them to carry out their duties without concerns about healthcare. He affirmed that health should not be a luxury, but a priority, as it forms the foundation of effective professional productivity.

He also expressed Al Emadi Medical Group’s aspiration to expand cooperation with the Qatar Press Center in the future through joint community initiatives and health awareness campaigns targeting journalists and their families. He reaffirmed that the media is a key partner in promoting public health awareness and instilling a culture of prevention in society.

 

Comprehensive Healthcare Package

Dr. Abdelilah Al-Adimi, CEO and Chief Medical Officer of Al Emadi Hospital Group, expressed his happiness with the signing of the cooperation agreement, stating that this step reflects the Group's commitment to expanding its services to include vital and influential professional segments of society, notably the media family which plays a central role in information dissemination and public opinion shaping.

He explained that the agreement will allow Qatar Press Center members to benefit from a comprehensive package of healthcare services provided by the Group, including general and specialized medicine, dentistry, pediatrics, gynecology and obstetrics, cardiology, diagnostic radiology, physiotherapy, emergency services, and more. These services are offered across a network of hospitals and clinics equipped with the latest medical technologies.

 

He confirmed that services will be provided at preferential prices and discounts, thoughtfully designed to suit the nature and needs of media professionals. The agreement is not limited to treatment but also aims to promote preventive care and health awareness through regular checkups and medical follow-ups, improving journalists’ quality of life and supporting their professional and personal stability.

 

Dr. Al-Adimi emphasized that Al Emadi Medical Group views this agreement as a long-term strategic partnership, reflecting its deep belief in the media’s importance as a key partner in national development and a vital contributor to building an informed and educated society. He expressed his gratitude to the Qatar Press Center leadership for this fruitful collaboration and pledged the Group’s commitment to offering the best medical services, resources, and expertise to reinforce Qatar’s position as a leading professional environment that cares for all societal segments—especially those in impactful professions such as journalism.

 

Expanding Partnerships

Mr. Sadeq Mohammed Al-Amari, Director General of the Qatar Press Center, affirmed that this agreement marks the beginning of membership-related partnerships with service providers in the country. He expressed his appreciation to Al Emadi Medical Group for their cooperation with the center.

He shared his satisfaction with the agreement, which offers a wide range of medical services at discounted prices for center members and their families, using the official membership card that will be distributed soon through their respective media institutions.

He added that the center is working on expanding partnerships and agreements that benefit members—not only in the healthcare sector but also in education, hotels, banks, car companies, and more.

 

Al-Amari clarified that currently, membership is limited to journalists or editors employed by media institutions in Qatar, which nominate their journalists for membership. He noted that future phases will expand membership to include journalists working in government ministries and institutions, as well as a third phase targeting independent journalists, correspondents of foreign media, and social media influencers.
