Qatar is the platform for charitable work in Ramadan... and priority is given to the people of Gaza

Doha - March 15, 2024: Charitable organizations in the State of Qatar compete to launch Ramadan campaigns to extend a helping hand to those in need, inside and outside the State of Qatar, which has become a global platform for charitable and humanitarian work. With the advent of the blessed month, a series of Qatari humanitarian and charitable campaigns, initiatives and projects were launched across a wide international scope, to reach the poor, the needy, and those affected in areas afflicted by conflicts, especially in Palestine, inside Syria, Somalia, Yemen, and Bangladesh, including Rohingya refugees. As the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip continues, Qatari humanitarian and relief aid this year focused on extending a helping hand to our brothers in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories. Qatari initiatives around the world during Ramadan include organizing Iftar tables for fasting people, distributing meals and food baskets, shelter, water and sanitation, and financing livelihood projects. For productive families, providing services, health care to patients, treatment, and providing the necessary equipment and medicines for patients in need, as well as providing relief to debtors, sponsoring needy families, building homes for the displaced, and providing Eid and Eid clothing for workers, low-income families, orphans, and widows. Here are some of those initiatives: Qatar Red Crescent The Red Crescent launched its Ramadan campaign for the year 1445 AH, under the slogan “Helping them is a duty,” which aims to collect donations from the zakat and charity of benefactors in the State of Qatar, and to benefit from them in implementing a series of Ramadan projects for the benefit of 281 thousand fasting people in 19 countries, in addition to a large group of projects. Humanitarian and development services throughout the year for the benefit of 1.6 million people around the world. The Ramadan campaign is the most important seasonal campaign during the year to which the people of Qatar respond with alms and zakat, to finance projects and programs that are compatible with the many legitimate charitable banks that contribute to achieving the humanitarian goals of the campaign, and spreading the spirit of solidarity and brotherhood between the rich and the poor in the month of goodness and reward. The Crescent seeks to build a new bridge of giving and compassion through this campaign, which aims to implement various Ramadan and development projects for the benefit of hundreds of thousands of poor, refugees and displaced people during and after the holy month of Ramadan, especially in light of the difficult humanitarian conditions that the people of the Gaza Strip are experiencing, as a result of the loss of many of the components that ensure They have a safe and decent life. In addition to the Iftar projects for the fasting person during the month of Ramadan 1445 AH, the Qatar Red Crescent seeks, through the campaign’s proceeds, to implement an integrated plan for targeted humanitarian projects and programs until the end of this year to reach about 1.6 million beneficiaries, including the sectors of food, shelter, water and sanitation, livelihood, and education. , psychological support, health, and medical convoys. Ministry of Endowments The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs launched the “Iftar Fasting” campaign, which includes providing breakfast meals to more than 24,000 fasting people daily throughout the country, during which 700,000 meals will be distributed. The campaign aims to establish the year of social solidarity and interdependence, implement the conditions of those who stand by, help the needy and needy to perform the obligation of fasting, alleviate the suffering of many workers whose circumstances do not allow them to prepare the breakfast table in a timely manner, and utilize the gatherings as an advocacy, awareness-raising and educational opportunity. Qatar Charity explained that the campaign aims to implement a package of seasonal and development projects, including breakfast for the fasting person, Eid clothing, and Zakat al-Fitr, in addition to establishing the largest city for orphans in the world in Turkey, and other development projects in a number of fields, depending on the donations of charitable people expected to support the campaign.
