The Qatar Press Center and the Qatar Media Corporation have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation, exchange expertise, and build capacities in the fields of media, journalism, and training.

Under the terms of the MoU, the Corporation will serve as a media partner of the Center for one year, as part of both parties’ commitment to encouraging and developing cooperation between them and with other media entities.

The MoU was signed by Mr. Sadiq Mohammed Al-Emadi, Director General of the Qatar Press Center, and Mr. Abdullah Ghanem Al-Mahmoudi, Director of the International Cooperation and Agreements Office at the Qatar Media Corporation.

The signing ceremony was attended by chief editors of local newspapers, members of the Center’s Board of Directors, Mr. Abdullah bin Hayyi Al-Sulaiti, Vice Chairman of the Qatar Press Center, Mr. Mohammed Nasser Al-Mahmoudi, Director General of Qatar Radio, Mr. Ali Saleh Al-Sada, Director of Qatar TV, several department heads from the Qatar Media Corporation, and a number of journalists and media professionals.

The Director General of the Qatar Press Center praised the support of the Qatar Media Corporation and expressed his gratitude to His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Abdulaziz bin Jassim Al Thani, Acting CEO of the Qatar Media Corporation, for enhancing joint cooperation through professional and training initiatives aimed at advancing the role of Qatari journalism and media.

He also highlighted the provisions of the MoU, which include cooperation between the Center and the Corporation to organize two seminars annually, based on current events or to spotlight issues under public discussion. These seminars will feature relevant guest speakers from within Qatar or abroad.

He added that, according to the MoU, the Center will also collaborate with the Corporation to organize four training courses annually. These courses will either be specialized and organized jointly with the Corporation or focused on media topics offered by the Center and delivered by subject matter experts.

Mr. Abdullah Al-Mahmoudi stated that the joint cooperation aims to support the use of communication and information technologies to facilitate the flow of print, visual, and audio materials between the two parties.
