The Qatar Press Center condemns, in the strongest terms, the misleading media campaigns and reports promoted by certain Israeli media outlets, which aim to distort the Qatari humanitarian aid provided to the brotherly Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, and to present narratives lacking objectivity and documentation, in a clear attempt to obscure facts and divert attention from the humanitarian catastrophe experienced by civilians in the Strip.
The Center affirms that the repetition of undocumented allegations, whether through the media or through statements by certain Israeli political figures, does not turn them into facts, nor does it detract from the steadfastness of Qatar's position supporting the Palestinian people and their just cause, or from the humanitarian efforts undertaken by the State of Qatar for years to alleviate the suffering of the brotherly Palestinian people and the besieged residents of Gaza.
The Center points out that Qatari aid to Gaza has been linked to declared and organized mechanisms, in coordination with the United Nations and relevant parties, to ensure that the aid reaches those who deserve it. The United Nations has affirmed, in its own mechanisms regarding aid to Gaza, the importance of verifying and tracking shipments and ensuring they reach civilians, while the State of Qatar continues to provide humanitarian aid to the Strip in cooperation with the United Nations, the most recent of which was the agreement announced in September 2026 to provide about 1.3 million liters of fuel to support the health sector and basic humanitarian operations.
The Center categorically rejects attempts to conflate humanitarian aid directed at civilians with any political or security allegations not based on reliable evidence, stressing that humanitarian work must remain aloof from political exploitation and media disinformation.
The Center considers that the repetition of these allegations, especially in the context of internal political debates in Israel, represents a dangerous misuse of the media in political conflicts, and an attempt to reframe facts to serve cheap political narratives at the expense of the truth and the public's right to obtain accurate and reliable information.
The Center stresses that the professional and ethical responsibility of media outlets does not stop at conveying allegations, but rather imposes upon them the duty to verify them, search for their sources, compare them with official documents, statements, and independent sources, and not grant unproven narratives space that causes allegations to transform into something resembling facts.
The Qatar Press Center calls upon Arab media institutions, Arab journalistic syndicates and unions, and professional bodies concerned with press freedom to assume their role in confronting media disinformation campaigns, refuting false narratives and undocumented information, and exposing contradictions and selectivity in addressing humanitarian aid directed at the Palestinian people.
The Center urges newsrooms and Arab media outlets to intensify professional journalistic work based on verifying information, relying on documents and primary sources, and highlighting field and humanitarian facts away from propaganda campaigns, so as to prevent the media from being turned into a tool to justify violations or cover up the suffering of civilians.
The Center affirms that confronting disinformation is not done with counter-disinformation, but with professional journalism based on evidence and documents, which places facts before public opinion, and grants the public the ability to distinguish between documented information and political allegation.
The Center emphasizes that misleading media campaigns will not obscure the fact of the enormous humanitarian needs in the Gaza Strip, nor will they detract from the importance of the aid provided to civilians. The United Nations has repeatedly affirmed the necessity of ensuring the safe, sustainable, and unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid to the civilian population in the Strip.
The Qatar Press Center reiterates its affirmation that professional journalism should not be a platform to promote undocumented allegations, but a tool to expose, scrutinize, and place them in their correct context.
