The Qatar Press Center has signed a cooperation agreement with the Middle East and North Africa Editors Network.
The agreement aims to organize advanced training programs for journalists and media professionals working in Qatar and the region, in addition to organizing joint media activities. Through this partnership, the center seeks to expand its network with journalists across the Middle East and North Africa.
The agreement includes launching a series of joint events and training programs to strengthen media and professional cooperation and develop journalistic and media capacities, especially in the field of modern digital media. The cooperation also involves launching a "Digital Media Diploma" and organizing training courses on digital media skills, held in person or virtually, with certificates of attendance or diplomas signed and accredited by the network.
The agreement was signed by Mr. Sadiq Mohamed Al-Ammari, Director General of the Qatar Press Center, and Mr. Abubakr Ibrahim Oglu, Executive Director of the Middle East and North Africa Editors Network.
The Director General stated that the Qatar Press Center aims to enhance the role of journalism and digital media in uncovering the truth, particularly amid the rapid developments around the world.
He added that the center is keen to expand strategic partnerships in journalistic qualification, elevate the journalism profession, develop digital media, and provide specialized training for journalists and media professionals to help them acquire new skills that meet the demands of digital technology.
He said: "We are pleased to sign this agreement with the Middle East and North Africa Editors Network, which includes a distinguished group of journalists and media experts in the region. The network is officially accredited in the UK, Denmark, and Turkey and has many branches worldwide. This partnership will help us achieve our goals of strengthening ties with journalists in the region and the world."
For his part, Mr. Abubakr Ibrahim Oglu said: "We are proud to collaborate with the Qatar Press Center, which has quickly enriched the media landscape in the region through specialized training courses and seminars addressing professional, political, and cultural issues of interest to journalists and media professionals in the Middle East."
He added: "As part of this cooperation, the network will organize specialized and intensive events and training sessions in collaboration with the center to achieve our shared goals and support our mission to improve the performance of journalists and media professionals in Qatar and the region."
He concluded: "We are very happy with this cooperation, which reflects our joint commitment to elevating journalistic and media work in the face of the challenges posed by digital media."
Over the past years, the Qatar Press Center has strengthened its cooperation with many Arab journalist unions, including those in Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, and Morocco. The center is also a member of the Federation of Arab Journalists and the Gulf Press Union and is working towards joining the International Federation of Journalists to enhance global journalist collaboration and experience exchange.
